Melbourne VMUG User Conference: An Interview with Josh Odgers

Josh Odgers (@josh_odgers) is a VCDX from Melbourne, Australia, and a regular at local VMUG meetings. He works for converged systems startup Nutanix in their R&D division. He spoke to me about the value of network virtualisation, and how it may start in the datacentre, but will expand out into the rest of the network later on.

We also talked about the need for continuous learning, and the need for people to cross-skill into areas they may be weak in, particularly networking.

VMUGs are a great way to learn from your peers and to keep track of what’s happening in the industry. They’re a great place to start if you’re unsure of what you should do, and the people are all friendly and willing to help.
