Consider this: Whenever the IDers, or Creationists, or whatever the anti-evolution weirdos call themselves these days, burst into the media with their latest claim that the fossil record is, like, youknow, toally, like, bogus and stuff? Youknow? Well, here’s a really well phrased comment about why we ignore you. It’s not that we don’t like you. No. It’s much worse than that. Your ideas are so incredibly boring and pointless that we’ve already had that exact same argument with your ilk dozens of times in the last 100 years. If you have new evidence, or new ideas, or new anything, great! That’s what makes science awesome. We can totally deal with new information. It makes all of our ideas better.
But if all you have to offer is the same, tired “I didn’t evolve from a monkey” schtick, well, just fuck off. Someone nicer than me might have the patience to explain to you, again, why this is a stupid argument. I’m not that nice.
