I’ve made some updates to SCM to assist with finding errors in the messages file.
It’s easy to overlook them if you don’t have some sort of process for checking them, such as a central syslog server and some sort of syslog parsing program.
Speaking of which, it would be easy to add syslog parsing capabilities to SCM, along much the same lines as the rules I just added to parse the NetApp /etc/messages file.
A project for tomorrow, perhaps?
Oh, and I’ve had some signups for the VIP audit service already, so get in fast before all the places fill up!
