Google + Wikipedia FTW

There was an image in the paper this weekend that was a parody of a well known painting. Actually, there were two: one was a parody of Edvard Munch’s The Scream, where they’d added a clown hat and clown makeup. I thought it fitting, since clowns are evil.

I couldn’t remember the name of the other one. My other half did Art at college, so she’s much better at this sort of Art History stuff than me, but she didn’t recognise the painting. I figured I could just use the Internet to figure it out.

And yes, I could. In less than a minute. Which just rammed home another “living in the 21st century is awesome” moment for me.

A Google image search of painting+pitchfork yielded a bunch of the pictures. Punch in ‘American Gothic’ into Wikipedia, and there you have it: American Gothic, by Grant Wood.

This century totally rules.
